Contractor services are an essential part of orchard operations.
All contractors that work with our kiwifruit need to be aware of and committed to Zespri and GLOBALG.A.P. standards.
Zespri GLOBALG.A.P. Contractor Programme
It’s up to you to confirm that contractors who provide spray application, fertiliser application and vine work (including harvest, pruning and other canopy work) on your orchard are registered with Zespri in the GLOBALG.A.P. Contractor Programme.
How do I register with Zespri in the GLOBALG.A.P. Contractor Programme?
If you’d like to apply to register as a contractor with Zespri, head to our industry site to find relevant information regarding contractor responsibilities and helpful resources, including the registration request form.
How do I verify a contractor?
If you’re engaging a contractor to provide spray, fertiliser, harvest or vine maintenance services on your orchard, ask to see a copy of their Compliance Assessment Verification (CAV) and cross-check it against the Approved Contractor List to ensure it’s valid. All contractors that appear on the list are certified against the relevant GAP and GRASP standards.
You should keep records of this verification to present at your own inspection.
