EPA Hi-Cane reassessment: decision now due by May 27

The hydrogen cyanamide hearing was officially closed yesterday (April 16) and the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) will announce its decision no later than May 27 – within 30 working days of the hearing closing.

The public hearing was held from February 26 to March 1 in Mt Maunganui and was adjourned while the Decision Making Committee considered whether it had the information it needed to make its decision. In its April 16 statement, the Committee said it has reviewed all the information provided and considers it has the information it needs, thanking all submitters for their contributions to the process.


More information on the reassessment will be provided to industry as it becomes available.
