This month’s key updates include:
- A market update (p. 1), which notes the increase in our weekly sales rates since exiting the summer fruit period, and a summary of how our key markets are performing. You can also read more detail on how we’re tracking with our sales of SunGold and Green in Europe and US, as well as key highlights from some of our campaigns in Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, and Shanghai as we close out the summer sales period and kick off Autumn activations (p. 7).
- Jason’s CEO column (p. 2) where he notes his key highlights from his Europe travels, including catching up with key customers and partners and receiving great feedback on our fruit. He also notes the importance of discussions on key topics including quality, 2025 season planning, licence release, and the potential expansion of ZGS.
- A feature on the potential expansion of ZGS (p. 1, 4, and 5), including answers from the people in the industry best placed to address some of the common questions growers have been raising, as well as an overview on how growers can best prepare for a potential ZGS producer vote (p. 5).
- We also hear from grower Rob Humphries who reflects on some key takeaways from the recent Northern Hemisphere tour season (p. 6), visiting ZGS orchards in Greece and Italy, and you can read an article from Andrea Grassi Chair of the Italian SunGold Suppliers Committee, outlining how our supplier packhouses in Italy ensure the quality of Zespri Kiwifruit (also on p. 6).
- A reminder for growers to please update their bank account and GST number details (p. 2) as Zespri finalises its preparations for the implementation of Loyalty as Shares and Dividends as Shares initiatives in 2025 in our efforts to improve the industry's share alignment.
- An update on our Progress payments this season (p. 3 and 11), following some discussion in recent weeks about the difference between Mainpack and KiwiStart grower returns.
