Restricted Red80 Cutover Licence Auction - CLOSED
The Restricted Red80 licence auction opened at 9am on 29 April and has now closed. The results of each auction round and round timings are available here.
The Unrestricted Red80 licence auction opened at 9am on 30 April and is now closed. The auction concluded in round 16 with a final price of $457,000.
The Unrestricted Pool was available to all growers who registered to bid and followed the auction for the Restricted Red80 pool for Red19 growers wishing to cut over on 30 April.
These auctions were the first licence releases for Red80 which was commercialised at the end of last year. A total of 50 hectares was released in each pool, with the limited release reflecting grower feedback for a conservative approach as we continue to learn more.
These auctions are an important step in growing the red category. Red80 joins Red19 under the Zespri RubyRed Kiwifruit™ trademark, extending the season to help build demand and support sustainable returns for all red growers. Supply will continue to be managed carefully, guided by market signals and our growing understanding of our RubyRed varieties.

Auction timetable
The below timetable provides a breakdown of the live auction timing. Bidders will have up until 9.00am of the relevant auction to place pre-set bids. Once live bidding commences pre-set bids cannot be added, amended or deleted.
The first round allows thirty minutes for placing a bid, and as the auction progresses this time will gradually reduce to ten minutes.
