The Fresh Carriers Hayward Medal recognises individuals who’ve made a meaningful contribution to the success of our kiwifruit industry. Whether through leadership, innovation, or long-term commitment, this award is about acknowledging the people who help our industry thrive.
Established in 2012, the medal honours those across our sector, from growers and post-harvest teams to researchers - who’ve played a key role in shaping our industry.
The judging panel, led by Craig Thompson from the Industry Advisory Council, will consider nominations that reflect excellence in one or more of the following areas:
- Contribution – how has this person made a significant impact on the kiwifruit industry?
- Innovation – what have they done to help lift the performance of our industry?
- Leadership – how have they shown leadership in their work or within the wider industry?
The recipient will be announced at the Momentum 2026 Gala Dinner on Wednesday 25 February at Baypark, Mount Maunganui.
